There is a director of the Cancer Centers in Pittsburgh Medical Center who has giving a warning to 3,000 staff and faculty to cut their cell phone use. He did this to warn other of the side effects of over-use of cell phones. He found that long term cell phone use is linked to possible health condition, and those conditions include cancer.
All these health concerns are still controversial, he said, but he feels there is now enough data out there that people should be warned. He recommends that people limit there conversations along with using the speaker phone setting and text messages as a way to keep your phone away from your head a must as possible. Children too, should only use cell phone for emergencies since they, because they are young, are more prone to adverse effects.
Toronto’s health agency has also asked children to cut their use of cells phones as some European countries already have. Although studies are still in progress, it is still felt that long term use only increases the risk of brain tumors.
